Pupil Leadership Roles

At Morley Place Academy, we believe in empowering our pupils to become confident and responsible leaders. Our pupil leadership opportunities are designed to give children a voice in their education and a chance to make a real difference in our school community.

Pupil Parliament

Our Pupil Parliament is a cornerstone of our commitment to democracy. Each year, members are democratically elected by their peers, mirroring the principles of a fair and representative government. They play an active role in shaping the experiences of all children at our school, from providing pupil feedback on new initiatives to helping organise school-wide events. Our Pupil Parliament members also get to represent Morley Place Academy in the wider community, welcoming visitors to events and even visiting the Houses of Parliament to learn more about how our country is run.

Playground PALS

Our Playground PALS programme highlights our pupils’ commitment to inclusivity and kindness. Year 5 pupils are voted into this role by their classmates to help make our playground a welcoming and fun place for everyone. They are responsible for setting up games and activities with equipment and are always ready to offer a helping hand or a friendly ear to anyone who feels lonely or wants to join in.

Reading Ambassadors

For pupils who have a true passion for literature, the role of a Reading Ambassador is perfect. These pupils are chosen for their love of books and their enthusiasm for reading. They share their passion by visiting classrooms to read aloud, helping to inspire younger pupils and foster a love of reading throughout the school. They also play a vital role in organising and participating in key literacy events like World Book Day and our popular Stay and Read events.
